1998's RAY OF LIGHT marked Madonna's move toward electronica, and a larger journey back to her dance-club roots. That journey was completed with 2005's CONFESSIONS ON A DANCEFLOOR. A collection of hardcore club tracks with few mainstream pop concessions, CONFESSIONS is packed wall-to-wall with driving, electronica-driven grooves.
Madonna has always been one of the reigning queens of postmodern alchemy, and this record is a perfect example of her magic. A primary layer of sleek, old-school disco is combined with pile-driving house and techno, not to mention more than a few contemporary production flourishes. Either directly or indirectly, CONFESSIONS references '70s and early-'80s dance music, including Madonna's own, but while the album seems retro in several areas, it also has a distinct futuristic sheen. Nothing here has the hook-heavy single status of "Material Girl" or "Like A Prayer," but the pulsing intensity of the tracks is sheer sonic pleasure, making Madonna's return to straight-up dance music a welcome homecoming.

bit of a crazy album from maddonna, she really is trying to keep up with the times and remain popular, but i almost think that she shpuld just give it up, as it makes me want to cringe at times, such as during the song "I Love New York" and her released single. this is pretty avergage, basically a middle aged woman singing techno inspired songs. weird.
I love Madonna's music. I don't like the political outspoken part of her because I think people who are outspoken about their political opinions are obnoxious. I don't care about the person though, I always like the music better. This album is really fun and really dancey! I love it, dance music is great because it makes me want to dance, no matter what that may look like. Even if you don't like Madonna the person, and you like dance music, you should listen to it. Who cares who copied who? I don't, it doesn't change the actual notes of the music.
For a woman of almost 50, Madonna does extremely well for her age, managing to pull off catchy dance tunes similar to artists in their teens or twenties. Hung Up, the first single is a very catchy, very danceable single which proves Madonna still has it - may not be a true classic like Like a Virgin or Material Girl, but it still did very well, and is worth listening, or dancing to. Buy this album if you like your pop music with a 'dance floor' sound.
this is a huge no no. why she is so old. not that that is a bad thing but the way she dresses is offensive to all my senses. her songs are repeditive and have no substance and i say she should put some pants on.this should only be owned by the most madonna obsessed fans
alot of people would agree with me when i say she's mutton dressed as lamb (i hope i got that right). alot of her music is her mimicing alot of today's popular female artists but she doesn't pull it off. the album is something for teeny boppers, i don't think fans of her older music would approve much, but thats my opinion.
And madonna has done it again! despite her age she still manages to cough up some groovy sounds. I enjoy a bit of maddona every now and then. The fast pased disco type of mellodys backed with purely brilliant vocalls. I give it the double thumbs up
I like some of Madonna's music , both old and new.
Her style is kinda cool, too and she continues to reinvent herself in her music.
She will be remembered as one of music's greats for years to come.
Madonna returns, she shouldn't have returned because this album is terrible (I like some of her older stuff so I bought it). Vocals synthesizers have been over-used to oblivion here and I wouldn't be surprised if Maddona lip synchs this rubbish live. She's too old, far, far too old. Don't buy it.
Madonna is the ultimate pop tart! She's full of botox and fabulous. This album is a real dance floor filler, the 1st single to drop from it "Hung Up" samples the old Abba classic "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" and has turned out exceptionally well. Madonna looks superb in the video (bar the slightly saggy old lady butt) and just like "Hung Up" the rest of the album is dancey and just what Madonna needs to keep the youngin's happy :) A great listen at a party or while you're cleaning the house :P
madonna's ability to find good variety of songs can be especially seen in this album. she has been called queen of pop music since the 80s and when you listen to this latest ones, you will find out why. she changes her style like chameleon and that is what fans anticipate in.
confessions on dancefloor has enjoyable dance music that will make you shake your body all this summer whether you are 8 or 80.
