Performer Notes - Recorded at Headley, Grange, Hampshire, Island Studios, London, England and Sunset Sound, Los Angeles, California.
- Led Zeppelin: Jimmy Page (guitar); John Paul Jones (keyboards, synthesizer, bass instrument); John Bonham (drums); Robert Plant.
- Additional personnel: Ian Stewart (piano); Sandy Denny (background vocals).
- Led Zeppelin's epochal fourth album finds both the band's blues-rock thunder and their gentler, more lyrical side filed down to a razor-sharp point. "Black Dog" and "Rock and Roll" aren't just perennial air-guitar anthems; they're the ultimate distillation of the blues-inflected, hard-rock fury the band had already been perfecting for the past three years. Robert Plant's Little Richard-on-amphetamines wail rides perfectly atop the band's strategically directed crunch for maximum impact. "When the Levee Breaks"is a titanic take on the blues, with John Bonham's thunderous drums echoing through the subsequent decades. The folkier, acoustic tracks provide welcome moments of beauty and respite, and all the elements of the band's sound come together in "Stairway to Heaven," a suite of shifting dynamics that would become the Eiffel Tower of classic-rock radio forevermore.

Led Zeppelin IV is the common, but unofficial name of the untitled fourth album of English rock band Led Zeppelin. It was released on November 8, 1971. It has no official title printed anywhere on the album, but is called Led Zeppelin IV after the band's previous three albums. Atlantic Records catalogues have used the names Four Symbols and The Fourth Album; it has also been referred to as Zoso or Zofo, which the first symbol appears to spell. Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page frequently refers to the album in interviews as Led Zeppelin IV, while singer Robert Plant thinks of it as "the fourth album, that's it". It is one of the best-selling albums in history, with over 23 million units sold in the United States, third most by any artist of all-time

this remastered cd makes every single song on here sound ten times better than the original. if you are a fan of led zeppelin, i recommend this cd to you. many of their best songs and ones that have become classics are on here. their sound will never die and despite all of the imitators, the music is still great to listen to.

Led Zeppelin are the best band ever. Stairway to heaven is an absolute epic. It was beautifully written, matched by an amazing melody and topped off with Jimmy Page's genius guitar solo. While most songs on the album are great, you can't match any of them with what I would say, is the greatest song ever.

Everyone writes about 'Black Dog', ' Battle of Evermore', 'Misty Mountain Hop' and of course 'Stairway to Heaven' - these created the greatest rock album ever. But listen to 'When the Levee Breaks' and recognise where the band started, where they got to, and where music changed forever. Blues lead to rock, and this song will always see that journey for me.

this c.d is by far the greatest old school rock album of all time. i mean who does something this good these days? nobody. stair way to heaven, wow, rated with the worlds best guitar solo, and what a solo it is. jimmy page has written some unforgetable songs in IV. a definate must for the sunny n.z bbq days when you want to just relax.

What else can be said about this mind-blowing record that hasn't already been said before? Chances are that if you are reading this, you already have some idea of how great this album is. "Black Dog" alone is enough to blow the top of your head of, let alone the power contained in the rest of the record. No self-respecting listener with even a passing interest in the history of rock music should be without this.

Black Dog, Rock 'N Roll,Stairway To Heaven,Battle For Evermore.
'Nuff said.
Just get it, if you don't have it, ok? Do it now. Run. Or click your mouse really fast, that will do to.
Led Zeppelin IV is clearly and without a doubt one of the best rock albums that has ever been made, and ever will be made, or could possibly ever be made. No arguments.

I wrote a massive review for this, and then lost it because i hit the back button by mistake, in short...
This album is Led Zeppelin's best, because it has 'stairway to heaven', 'rock and roll', 'black dog' and 'misty mountain hop' the remastering has bettered the quality a bit, but that was not really needed anyways.
