  • Already a legend in its own meagre lifetime, this startling debut shrouded itself in controversy, from its original Robert Williams artwork to Axl Rose's unblinking accounts of LA's underbelly. This mawkish storytelling, combined with a brattish collective swagger and a surprisingly mature approach to their songs, guaranteed Guns N' Roses a speedy notoriety that was to serve their legend brilliantly. From the laconic "Paradise City" to the achingly beautiful "Sweet Child O' Mine," or the furious "Welcome To The Jungle," the record brims with a brutal integrity. An album they could never surpass even if they had stayed together.

Reviews
5 of 5 Stars! Customer review on 31/03/2007

This is considered by many GN'R fans to be their greatest album. In many respects, it is! The chemistry that the five original members had was nothing short of spectacular, and the sound they produced was raw, dirty, hard and in-your-face. This album is definitive of GN'R's great early years of fame, before Steven Adler was fired and before they introduced a wider range of instruments and sounds. If you are a fan of quality hard rock, then buy this album!

5 of 5 Stars! Customer review on 26/12/2006

Come on, is this not the best album ever!? The shredding guitars, the screeching vocals ..just wow .. this is just a great heavy metal album that can be played anywhere at any time and you are garanteed that everyone in the room will love it. I have a feeling this album will be timeless and they will still be playing it decades from now, in micro-cd format

5 of 5 Stars! Customer review on 28/10/2006

I will agree with the friends of the time for this one. There is some kick arse hard edged rock and roll there. It certainly made a few people want to be guitar heroes! There are some superlative standout hard rock tracks to be found here, Welcome To The Jungle, Sweet Child O'Mine and Paradise City. Top notch work on all of these from a great singer and guitarist.
