Unsurprisingly, it has a similarly fine soundtrack. There are seven new songs here by New York anti-folk singer-songwriter Kimya Dawson, including the jaunty but gently barbed "So Nice, So Smart." The rest of the soundtrack collects impressively deep tracks from a variety of hipster heroes, including Sonic Youth's outstandingly creepy cover of the Carpenters' "Superstar," Cat Power's take on the R&B ballad "Sea of Love," Buddy Holly's "Dearest," and Belle and Sebastian's "Piazza, New York Catcher." The soundtrack ends with the film's two stars, Ellen Page (THE TRACEY FRAGMENTS) and Michael Cera (SUPERBAD), singing a slightly reworked version of one of Dawson's older songs from her days as half of the Moldy Peaches, "Anyone Else But You." This quirky (I agree with the other reviewer - no better work for it!) collection is the perfect match for the movie. Very gentle in a sense but also these songs are not just cruisey ditties. They do make you think, they will change pace or the lyrics will suprise in places. Anyone else but you appears twice (one is the in-movie version and one the pro verison) they are both great for different reasons...actually, I think I like the in-movie version better :) Great music for a quiet afternoon with your own thoughts.

. I guess quirky is the best way to describe this cd. Listen to the most profound lyrics I have heard in a looong time. SO poignant and artfully observational - I found myself a little distracted by the words to the songs during the movie - which I found at first to be a little in-your-face, and then began to adjust. I think Kimya Dawson is going to be the next Kurt Cobain in terms of social poetry - and one to watch. A bit on the folksy, guitar and simple voices side, but enough to keep you interested. My faves - all I want is you, and Vampire. My fave CD for playing on lazy Sunday mornings.

this soundtrack perfectly matches the movie juno. one of my fav songs is dearest by buddy holly, this movie plays the right songs during the movie, i think one of the best films since garden state in the sense of a movie like this. i would recommend this to anyone who likes garden state or a teen/comedy/just enjoy film.
