Performer Notes - Jack Johnson And Friends: Jack Johnson (vocals, guitar, ukulele); Zach Gill (vocals, piano); Merlo Podlewski (bass guitar); Adam Topol (drums); G. Love, Ben Harper, Kahu Kawika Kahiapo, Matt Costa.
- Grammy-nominated Hawaiian singer-songwriter Jack Johnson is joined by fellow musicians including Ben Harper and G. Love on this set of songs for children from the movie CURIOUS GEORGE. Shuffling, danceable rhythms, hummable melodies, and simple but absorbing kid-friendly lyrics ensure a good time for both children and adults. Highlights include White Stripe Jack White's "We're Going to Be Friends," Johnson's duet with G. Love on the infectiously simple "Jungle Gym," and the sunny, Harry Nilsson-sounding "People Watching."
Professional Reviews Rolling Stone (p.70) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "Jack Johnson keeps his regular-dude croon friendly and extra-bright on this tidy, quietly pretty soundtrack..."
Q (p.118) - Ranked #56 in Q Magazine's "100 Greatest Albums of 2006."
Uncut (p.91) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "There's still plenty of mellowed-out strum, but 'Broken' is refreshingly robust, as is the handclaps-and-piano of 'Sharing Song'."

– Customer review on 18/04/2007 Different from other Jack Johnson cds, Singalongs and Lullabys For The Film Curious George is a lot more simple and playful sounding because it is a cd aimed at children and don efor the film curious george. Thi scd was a dissapointing to me as i am a big Jack Johnson fan. But it does have some gems in the songs "Talk Of The Town" and "Lullaby" which has vocals by Matt Costa.

– Customer review on 04/01/2007 There is something about Jack Johnson that kids love. My young son finds his tunes to be very soothing, especially calming in the car. Which in turn is calming for me too! Although some of the song lyrics are obviously written for younger minds, others I could see on a 'regular' Jack Johnson CD. There are some songs about relationships that are down right moving. They make me smile and bring a tear at the same time. Overall, an enjoyable CD that we listen to a lot.

This music always cheers me up when im in a bad mood, and jack johnson is pretty much my favourite artist. Lots of people reckon his music "is all the same" but i don't mind cause its real good stuff.
This c.d isnt his best one thou, but got some good ones..like him singing "we're all gonna be friends" its off napoleon dynamite yuss

– Customer review on 26/04/2006 I didn't think they would make a movie for curious george, or have Jack Johnson on a soundtrack for it. This is a great album either way if you were expecting it or not. The songs are great (not very long but great), there are some nice soothing melodies and jingles here.
10/10 reccomended for anyone

– Customer review on 24/04/2006 I've been a big Jack Johnson fan for a long time so I was keen to jump on the band wagon as soon as this album came out. I must say, this cd in particular was a bit different from his other cd's, because it would seem it's a soundtrack for a movie 'Curious George', although I'm yet to hear anything about the movie. It's different because although most of the songs are conducive to his laid back style, there are a few that sound more like a hyrid of his funky style AND NURSERY RHYMES, which actually don't come across as badly as you might think. There's enough of his regular style to make the cd worthwhile, but unless you're a die hard fan, have kids who would benefit from the 'recycling' and 'sharing' themes, or a school-teacher (like me), you might have to set the cd player to skip for a couple of the songs!
