Really heavy death metal. The guitar work here is great, the riffs are catchy, heavy and melodic. The guitar solo's here are awesome. The vocals are better than most from the genre. The song "Death In Fire" is a classic song, anybody should buy this if they like melodic death metal.

Boring melodic death metal, similar In Flames. This is probably their best album though, and the song "Death In Fire" is definately worth a listen (I only bought this album because of that song). After about 3 or 4 songs this album starts getting a bit predictable. Some good riffing and average vocals get this album a 3/5, only worth getting if you are a fan of melodic death metal (i suggest you start with "Heartwork" by Carcass).

Another fairly boring, generic Melodic Death album by another At The Gates clone, it's a better album than other Amon albums but still doesn't cut it. This band keep the extremely mediorce vein of Gothenburg melodic death painfully alive, but seem to have lower pitched guitars that the usual. This would be a good album to own if you don't own any Melodic Death albums, but if you own any this album wont add to the variety of your collection any more.
Saying that, i must admit this albuim did have some alright moments, a few catch riffs, but the lack of origionality has placed this album amongst thousands of other At the Gates clone bands.

Absolutely brilliant. Any fans of Black/Death metal need to check this one out. Don't let the fact theyre from Sweden, (or that they once had an ex-Opeth drummer) put you off, theres nothing sissy about these guys, they're Viking to the bone and can even outperform some of their Norwegian brothers on albums like this one. Its hard not to want to ride into battle after listening to this. If you dont already own it, buy it right now.
