WALKING ON A DREAM is the debut album by Empire of the Sun, the Australian duo that includes Luke Steele of pop-rockers the Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore of dance/electronica ensemble Pnau. Together they find a common ground between their stylistically disparate backgrounds, turning out tracks that incorporate both the psych-tinged pop sensibilities of Steele's previous recordings with the dance-driven snap and sparkling synth flavors of Littlemore's work with Pnau. There's a giddiness to the whole affair that lends a spirit of fun to the album, one that could easily appeal to a whole new audience unfamiliar with either man's past.

I like this CD. Some of the songs are bit strange, BUT I adore Walking on a Dream, Country, Standing on the Shore, and We Are the People. I wonder why they have a Parental Advisory on the CD? hmmmmm
Brilliant album!!!! Luke Steel (The Sleepy Jackson) and Nick Littlemore (PNAU) prove to be pure genius. Uplifting beats and bizarre lyrics, great CD for a road trip!
This album is freakin AMAZING -- it's all good from start to finish. It gets even better on subsequent listens and doesn't get annoying, even though it sticks in your head. I'm continually falling in love with a new song off it. They have different rates of maturity. Luke has an amazing array of voices, that are all so compelling to listen to. I love this album and these guys with the intensity of a teenage crush obsession
