We bought this for our 7 yr old son as we were not prepared to pay the for the Lego equivalent. But I guess you get what you pay for. The electronics were hopeless and if it wasn't for the clever alterations of my husband it would not have worked. ( He needed to stretch the spring that connected the batteries and also add some aluminum foil to improve connection) Even now it is temperamental and only works sometimes. I am just glad we only paid $52. I would return it as faulty but our son is still in love with it and happy to push it around. The quality of the pieces is still substandard in comparison to Lego I feel. But overall the effect is good. Perhaps worth the $50 or so but I would not be keen to buy any more that has electronic components. I would give it 2 out of 5 for quality but my son would probably give it 4 out of 5 for enjoyment. (If the electronics worked it would have been a 5)
