Ok honestly you do need a torch to see in the dark properly these things dont really work I subscribe to National Geographic I got these with a magazine once and they did not work the torch did and so did the sound but I guess you actually cant see with the glasses alone in my opinion this was very disappointing even though I got it free.:(
