I have found the elevated track foundations to be sturdier and much more flexible than these, especially for use by younger engineers. Would recommend the elevated track foundations in preference (know they are more expensive) especially for younger kids. Whichever you go for they do add a dimnsion to layouts and extend the age-interest of the toy.

These ascending track risers have been a great addition to our Wooden Thomas set. They stabilise the eight inch ascending track pieces and allow new configurations to be built. As with all the other Learning Curve Wooden Railway items, these are beautifully made and they are sturdy enough to stand the test of time and rough little hands.
