– Customer review on 20/06/2008 I recently ordered this book from Fishpond, after getting it out from a local library.
As usual, Lonely Planet does a good job at covering Japan as a whole and giving brief insights into what we can do, or should go and see in the many locations of Japan.
In terms of usefulness, if your planning a trip to view Japan then this book is a good starting point. The book highlights what they view to be must see's or do's in each city. Definately a handy book if you have no knowledge at all about what Japan has to offer. Again, with any Lonely Planet book, they cover all bases in terms of essentials of travelling, accommodation, great eating spots, must see's and suggestions for those looking to travel the road less travelled.
However, if your expecting an in depth look into each town then this book may not be as useful as one hopes. In saying that, that is to be expected from such a book (that does an overview of the whole country) but for those first timers to Japan (like me) it's provided a whole heap of information that has certainly aided me in planning my trip to Japan.
