Commissioned to write his first book in 2003, a 512-page volume on the history of US military vehicles, since that time over 100 of his books have been published. While most of these concern historic military hardware, including aircraft and warships, his volumes on military vehicles, meticulously researched by David and his wife Denise, remain the genre for which he is most recognized. This recognition reached its pinnacle in June 2015, when he was presented the coveted Bart Vanderveen Award by the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, given in recognition of "...the individual who has contributed the most to the historic preservation of military vehicles worldwide."
This range has clearly grown into something really quite
impressive, and there is no sign of an end of days. Model makers,
photo collectors and casual lovers of armour or trucks will be
content. The best books reach out to many corners, and this one
seems to have them all covered. More, please. * War History Online
