About the Author

Douglas Beaudoin was born in Portland, Oregon in 1946. His family moved to Alaska to homestead in 1961. He was home schooled and enlisted in the Navy in 1966-1970, after which he attended the University of Alaska in 1971 and is currently retired from service with the State of Alaska. He has developed a passion for history and has written several books on Asia, Alaska and American history.
