One of the better ones in the Asterix series. This one is full of wacky new characters, absurd situations; and hilarious laugh-out-loud moments. Asterix and Obelix are in such a hurry that they somehow manage to be conscripted, trained and posted in an extra-ordinarily short amount of time. Tragicomix doesn't just sit about and wait for them though. He does his best to get free! The confusion that ensued was fabulously amusing. Great marks.

Why oh why would the Romans ever accept the applications of a Gaul to become legionnaire? During the course of their vey breif carrer as soldiers, Asterix and Obelix manage to make their training sergent cry, their cook try to boil himslef in gloop and their fellow soldiers gain about 20 pounds. Luckily though they also rescue tragicomix so all's well that ends well.
