When Vercingetorix, the last leader of the Gauls, was defeated by the Romans, he had to throw his arms at Caesar’s feet. But the Gauls remain a troublesome lot, and Caesar plans to show them who’s in charge. His idea is to parade amongst the Gauls, carried high on Vercingetorix’s shield. But the shield is missing, and the race is on between the Gauls and the Romans to find it. Whichever side is the first to retrieve the shield will have bragging rights over their adversaries – and Asterix’s own village chief, Pwyllpendefix, might just be able to help!
