January 2016 An excellent introduction to Baltimore Quilts. It
starts with enlarging the patterns by 10% and tracing the designs
onto the background with a water soluble pen.
The appliqué is needle turned, with detailed instructions for the
technique,
including needle sizes and thread. The background fabric is cut
away behind
the appliqué but trapunto is added on occasion. Embroidery gives
detail to
the appliqué. Pigma pens outline the shapes and add extra shading.
There are two pull out sheets with the patterns numbered in sewing
order. These are five beautiful bed quilts with traditional
designs.
