Saloma Miller Furlong is the author of Why I Left the Amish: A Memoir and she was featured in the PBS documentaries The Amish and The Amish: Shunned that aired on American Experience. She graduated from Smith College in May 2007 with a major in German and a minor in Philosophy. Saloma resides in the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts with her husband, David.
