First children's title from National Geographic Adventurer of the Year 2012 and author Alastair Humphreys
Alastair Humphreys spent four years cycling round the world, a journey of 46,000 miles across five continents. He has also competed in the Marathon des Sables, the 'toughest race on earth', running 150 miles through the Sahara. Despite breaking his foot during the race he still finished as one of the top ten British runners. His next adventure will see him walking to the South Pole and back.
If you've been around the block a few times and learnt a lesson or two, think what you might have picked up going all the way round the world. That's what I did. I went round the world. On a bicycle. -- Alastair Humphreys
