Dr. Lars J. Østergaard is a Professor of Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine, and Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. An internationally renowned researcher within the fields of vaccines and viruses-with research extending in several continents, including Africa-he has penned over 250 scientific papers and was a recipient for the Danish Ministry of Science Award. He also serves as Chairman of the board of the Nordic Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases as well as Chairman of the board of the biotech company ISD-Immunotech. He has been heavily involved in charity work, mainly in the area of HIV; for many years, he has served as Chairman of the Danish AIDS Foundation. Lars is the father of three grown-up children and lives with his dog near the beach in the Aarhus Region, Denmark. This is his first American novel co-written with Angela Panayotopulos. Angela Panayotopulos is a Greek-American top-rated freelancing writer, consultant, and editor, with a global clientele including internationally acclaimed CEOs, motivational speakers, university professors, doctors, and secret service agents. At 22, she earned her Creative Writing M.F.A., summa cum laude, from George Mason University. Her passion for storytelling is rivaled only by her love for dancing pentozali, adventuring with her beloved partner-in-crime, and savoring steaming cups of coffee-preferably while reading something by Neil Gaiman or Laini Taylor.
