The Cat's Pyjamas (2011) is Catherine Foreman's first book. She completed a Bachelor of Graphic Design majoring in illustration at AUT in 2002, but it wasn't until many years and a couple of her own children later that images and ideas began to materialise into stories that were complete enough to submit to a publisher. Catherine has since illustrated Chris Gurney's Madison Moon and the hot-air balloon (2012).
"This is a delightful story by a talented author who not only writes well but illustrates beautifully. Young children will adore this book. There's something in it for everyone!" -- Otago Daily Times "The Cat's Pyjamas is a charming book to share with pre-schoolers" -- Magpies "We whizz on through the week with a very satisfying payoff on the following Monday morning, and then we can read it again, following the support act of the cat's soft toy" -- NZ Post Judges' Report
