About the Author

Joel West is the owner of J West Entertainment, Inc. where he serves as the producer, director, and writer of various productions and entertaining media. He developed his passion for the arts at a young age. His mother realized that he was a proclaimed artist when he would draw pictures from his thoughts of buildings architectural designs, favorite football players, etc. Mr. West realized his dream as a writer/ filmmaker after feeling dissatisfied on how the media portrayed a dear friend's death and life growing up in the inner city of Atlanta. He felt the world needed to know his story and set about writing it. When he completed the story he began a quest of making it come to life, which GOD revealed to him a deeper talent of producing and directing. He proceeded in making a trailer of this work and later music videos, developing TV pilots, drama series, and stage plays all in hopes of breaking into the entertainment business. He knew that in doing so he had to be well educated, so he pursued his education for filmmaking and writing at the Art Institute of Atlanta. The process of making art go from paper to production became a profound talent and to this day Mr. West has enjoyed his success in film making and stage play productions; to his credit are "Da'Ville" a trailer and stage play, " Divas on the Force" a TV pilot, and "The Real ATL" a dramatic comedy stage play. Mr. West now invites you into the real harsh world of the lives of two young adults as they see it growing up in their reality in hopes of "A Change Around The Corner". Mr. West believes that success has already happen because GOD has anointed it upon you, and we are just living the past of what is yet to come. Mr. West is a proud husband and father of four kids. He also believes life is all about family and keeping God first in their lives.
