Ashley Ritteman, author of Charis Lambs, had the idea to write a series of children s books while learning about the Bible at Charis Bible College. Ashley felt God prompting her to simplify gospel truths to connect them with the heart of a child. As that prompting would not go away, Ashley started writing her first series on the Parable of the Sower. God was faithful in providing for Ashley s needs as she began researching how to write and publish a children s book. People divinely crossed paths with Ashley to help her, including illustrator, Roger Martin. Roger is the father of a former classmate of Ashley s. One night when Ashley was telling her class about the children s book project, Roger s daughter, Laura, took note. Laura later told Ashley that her father is an illustrator and that God had recently been prompting him to find his farm animal drawings from years past. Ashley was just about to start looking for an illustrator, but could it be that God would just bring one to her.. Yes! It was true, God had provided yet again! Roger searched long and hard for his animal sketches (it had been nearly 15 years since he had last seen them) and God led him to the spot they were stored. Shortly after finding the drawings, he and Ashley met and Ashley loved his talented work. This book is a result of divine appointments. Ashley and Roger are so blessed to reach the next generations with the Word of God. A special thanks to Roger s children, Todd and Laura, who have been instrumental to the success of this book. Also, a special thanks to Ashley s husband, Thomas, for his tremendous support. Ashley and Roger hope and pray that you will love the work that God has called them to as much as they do. Blessings to you and the special children in your life!
