C. JoVan Williams was born and raised in Chicago, IL. The United States Air Force transported her and her family to the East Coast, in New Jersey. She credits her writing inspirations from her experiences as a military spouse, mother to three children, college graduate, government worker, silly daughter, and an overbearing older sister too many. Talk about a full plate! Her overall message is that she hopes to promote a heathly well being and bring Diabetes awareness to her readers after losing her father to Diabetes and Kidney Failure. In her first children's book series, Chef ReCee Jay & Friends, she talks about the trials and tribulations of acquiring better eating habits, with help from Carb Monkey and Veggie Bunnie. Whether you're Team Carb, Team Veggie, or stuck in between like Chef ReCee, you'll be talking about the messy adventures this trio goes through for years to come. The other two series she has out are for Young Adult and Middle Grade Readers. Chef ReCee Jay appears again in the, Traveling Chef Mystery Series, along with her two interns, Jett and Lily. In their first adventure, they stumble upon a murder on their first food tour, at a county fair! This newly appointed team, not only have to learn how to work together, but they have to save each other, from being "A Fair Killer's" next victim! Chef ReCee Jay does not regularly appear in the the Middle Grade Series, Crochet Kids Club, but her niece does! Monique Meadows, is a 6th grader at Stanley Clyde Middle School, and is apart of, you guessed it, a crochet club. A famous gifted 10 year old violinist visits Stanley Clyde Middle School the night before Halloween, but before he leaves, he can't find his violin! He has to find it! It's worth half a million dollars! The Crochet Club has a sneaky suspicion who might be behind the theft, but while others are so focused on thoughts of a Halloween prank gone wrong from their rival school, some of the Crochet Kids Club start to go missing too! With the threat of their school activities shutting down due to theft, the girls have to come up with a solution quick to catch the thief!
