James Fox was born in 1935 and was once one of the youngest pupils at the British Memorial School when it was evacuated in May 1940. After serving in the RAF with SHAPE in Paris he worked for NATO and in 1966 began a long and distinguished career with the Magnum Photos as Editor in Chief in New York and Paris. An accomplished photographer in his own right, he has published several volumes of photography. He lives in Paris.Sue Elliott is the author of the bestselling social history of adoption, Love Child.
