M.C. Tillson wrote the first book in her Michigan lighthouse trilogy after a visit to Copper Harbor on Upper Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. Since that time, she has written two other lighthouse mystery trilogies: one about lighthouses on the coast of her native North Carolina and another about her adopted home in the San Francisco Bay area.
