About the Author

Tim Ayers is a Senior Lecturer in the History of Art at the University of York, specializing in British art and architecture of the high and later middle ages, especially stained glass. He is a member of the British Committee of the Corpus Vitrearum and Vice President of the International Committee of the Corpus Vitrearum. He has published on the stained glass of Wells Cathedral and Merton College, Oxford. Brigitte Kurmann-Schwarz is research scholar at the Vitrocentre Romont since 1992 and a Senior Lecturer in the History of Art at the University of Zurich since 2001. She is a member of the Swiss National Committee and President of the International Committee of the Corpus Vitrearum from 2004 to 2012, and the author of two Corpus volumes for Switzerland, as well as of numerous articles on medieval art and stained glass. Claudine Lautier is a research scholar of the CNRS at the Centre Andre Chastel, Laboratoire de Recherche en Histoire de l'Art, and Vice-President of the International Committee of the Corpus Vitrearum. She has published on French Gothic architecture, Romanesque and Gothic stained glass and medieval treatises on the arts. Her present research is mainly focused upon Chartres Cathedral. Hartmut Scholz is director of the Research Centre of the German Corpus Vitrearum in Freiburg i.B. and since 2004 scientific Secretary of the International Committee of the Corpus Vitrearum; he is the author of two volumes for the German Corpus Vitrearum, on the medieval stained glass in Franconia and Nuremberg, and in Ulm Minster. He has published numerous articles on late medieval and early modern art, especially on stained glass. Tim Ayers ist als Senior Lecturer in Kunstgeschichte an der Universitat von York tatig.
