Neil Waring, born in O'Neill, Nebraska and raised in Fairbury, Nebraska was educated at Peru State College, Wayne State College and the University of Wyoming. He spent 42 years in education, teaching, American History, Wyoming History, and Geography along with a variety of other social science and English classes. Although the majority of his career was spent teaching at the high school level, he also taught Wyoming History, as an adjunct professor, for area community colleges for twenty years. In addition to this book Mr. Waring has published a nonfiction book about the Civilian Conservation Corps and the building of Guernsey State Park. Also to his credit are two young readers, growing up books, Melvin the E Street Ghost, and, "Then Mike Said, There's a Zombie in Our Basement." Book two of this Blade Holmes's trilogy, set in and near Laramie Peak, is scheduled to be released winter 2015. Neil has also published multiple short stories and historical pieces both online and in print. Neil and his wife Jan live in Guernsey, Wyoming near Fort Laramie, the Oregon Trail, the North Platte River and beautiful Guernsey State Park. When not writing Mr. Waring spends time, reading, gardening, playing golf, fishing, traveling and hiking in Guernsey State Park.
