Crimmo: The Story of Peter Crimmins is Dan Eddy's
sixth book in an expanding collection of works that bring to life
the history of Australian Football. His highly acclaimed biography
on Essendon legend Dick Reynolds (King Richard, Slattery
Media 2014) intimately examined the impact the triple Brownlow
Medallist had on the game, and in 'Crimmo' he has once again
captured the essence of one of football's most popular figures.
Eddy, whose 2019 PhD explored the remarkable background of Carlton
legend Alex Jesaulenko, has also written Larrikins &
Legends, Skills of Australian Football, Always
Striving and The Norm Smith Medallists, and has
co-written six other books including The Shinboners
(multiple authors) and The Will to Fly (with Lydia Lassila).
Eddy lives in Leongatha with his son Ernie.
Praise for Dan Eddy's works:"King Richard-The Story of Dick
Reynolds is the product of perhaps the most exhaustive study of
an Australian Football figure. The result of 190 interviews and
four years of painstaking research by first-time biographer Dan
Eddy, the 628-page examination of the Essendon legend is brimming
with fresh insights into the man, the footballer, his time and the
game itself."-Ben Collins, AFL Record.
Larrikins and Legends-the untold story of Carlton's greatest
era: "Author Dan Eddy has spent considerable time interviewing
not only the stars of those triumphant days, but it seems, many of
the bit players as well, and the result is fascinating reading....
Theirs is a legacy that deserves more acclaim and it's one Eddy's
book does a fine job in delivering."-Rohan Connolly, The
Age.
