This is a fabulous book for Carers and loved ones living with Dementia. The 'Lived Experience' perspective of others provides valuable insight and understanding of this complex and often misunderstood illness. It was particularly helpful reading the insights of others and made me realise I was not the only one who had these experiences which was somewhat of a relief. After reading I felt more connected to my loved one and felt empowered to provide a better level of care to both them and myself. I would encourage everyone to read this book, it is an easy read and can equip you with lifelong skills that will make this journey so much easier.

The author also outlines how to prepare for the future ,covering the legal and financial decisions as well as how to and when to look for on going care in a residential facility as well as looking at the pros and cons of "respite care".
