The cult classic that can still change your life...Let the dice decide! This is the philosophy that changes the life of bored psychiatrist Luke Rhinehart -- and in some ways changes the world as well. Because once you hand over your life to the dice, anything can happen. Entertaining, humorous, scary, shocking, subversive, The Dice Man is one of the cult bestsellers of our time.

I started this novel, and was riveted. I had never read anything like it in my life, and found the concept entirely fancinating. Itstarted to get a little stale and I felt the plot wasn't moving anywhere, and about two thirds of the way through the book, I just couldn't do it anymore. I put it down and don't even know how it ended. I cannot think of another book I have actually done that with. So two stars for the concpt, and great beginning, but I am sure there are many other concept books out there with better plots and deeper characters than this one. I really don't lnow how the author manged to get a deal to write a sequal.

Now this is a conceptual novel with some IMPACT! Read this and try living the dice life for a day (I did, but I didn't include any ridiculously stupid options, to say more would be a spoiler) but don't bother letting the dice decide where you drive. Unless you like going round the same series of blocks 30 times. Heh heh heh!
