Eva Peck discusses cats, pigeons, frogs, butterflies, penguins, date palm trees, pond flowers, and cherry tomatoes -- relating stories and explaining the spiritual parallels with each. The book encourages readers to be watchful for the divine realities exhibited by all living things. One thought in particular has captured my attention; it's in regards to the existence of God. At times, it may not be obvious that He's there. She said, "...not unlike the goanna silently hugging the tree trunk. Only upon a closer, careful look with an open mind and heart are God's attributes and presence perceived..." That particular thought has stayed with me all day. We have a large population of tiny little lizards that look exactly like tree bark. I lived here for years without ever seeing one; they mainly just hang out on tree trunks in camouflage. Oh, but when I did -- absolutely amazing! I couldn't believe that I had just "missed" seeing them for so long. Peck also writes about three ways to develop a greater awareness of the Divine. This book is a great choice for people of all ages. - (Becca at Amazon) I love the books by Eva Peck. This is the second one I have reviewed and the way she sees the beauty in the world is amazing. She related the scripture in the bible to what is going on around her. This teaches people to see the positive in the world and helps them to have faith through the negative times. This book reminds us that everything has a purpose and we should not take anything for granted. I recommend this book for those whom may need reminding that it's ok to stop and smell the roses; after all God created them and that is just one more way to get closer to him. (C.L. Stokes)
