A laser-plasma physicist by training, Anton Machacek is Assistant Head and Director of Sixth Form Studies at Westcliff High School for Boys. He has served as tutor and examiner with the British Physics Olympiad and has consulted on developments in physics education. His publications include The Language of Physics (as co-author) and Upgrade Your Physics. Jennifer Crowter is an experienced physics teacher known for the dynamism, discipline and rigour of her lessons. She brings a wealth of experience into her teaching, including national championship trampolining and a commission in the Royal Air Force. Jennifer is Head of Physics at The Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe. Lisa Jardine-Wright is an astrophysicist who lectures in first year physics and mathematics within the Natural Sciences degree at the University of Cambridge. She is part of the admissions team in Natural Sciences at Churchill College, where she is a fellow and tutor.
'Physics is best learned by doing, and this book provides students the opportunity to apply their understanding of physics principles to problems over a wide range of topics and level of difficulty. The problem-solving skills elucidated in this concise volume are the essential tools used by every working physicist and every successful physics student I know.'
