About the Author

Susan Lee (Sue) Parkhurst is a semi-retired writer/author, editor and micro-publisher. This book (first published as an e-book) is her first effort as an author. In 2000 she published the Second Edition, Revised version of The Pine Nut Chronicle: History and Adventures of Mining in Douglas County, Nevada by Nyle N. Nation. The book was published by Sue's micro-publishing firm, Pine Nut Press. An updated, electronic (ebook) version of The Pine Nut Chronicle is planned for release in the not-too-distant future. Other books that Sue is planning for the near future include one or more compilations of her late husband Dave W. Parkhurst's writings in mining and geology. She is also working on a book about her father, Leonard, a World War II veteran who fought at Okinawa and became a singing sensation in his 80s. Another planned project is a compilation of favorite family recipes. She resides in western Nevada near the eastern Sierra where she spends time with her young grandson when she isn't writing, editing, researching, designing and publishing books, among other pursuits.
