James Uzziah Hammond was born in Augusta, Georgia graduated from Butler High School, and is a graduate of Augusta State University. He also earned Masters degrees in Business and Management from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri. For him, writing has been and effective outlet of deep internal desires. Over the years he has honed his writing abilities to produce the literary works compiled within these pages. His works are often idealistic in nature, addressing the vast array of issues confronting human existence. He is a philosopher and a realist and doesn't always write in traditional poetic styles, but prefers a mixture of free verse and rhyme and strives to develop his own distinctive style. When once asked "Why write?" His response was, "Because words give meaning to everything."
