What is startling about the story of Muhammad Ahmad is the
immediacy of the mysterious desert mullah to the incarnation of
contemporary terrorism. This book is a must-read for every student
and policy-maker who seeks to understand religious fundamentalism
and terrorism in the world today.
*Insight on Africa*
This terrific book tells the story of the film 'Khartoum', which
starred a hammy Charlton Heston and a comedic-turn Laurence
Olivier. Although there was plenty of spectacle in the film and it
was enjoyabkle in places, I'm not surprised the film hasn't yet
been remastered for Blu-Ray. But the book fills in an enormous
number of gaps and is infintely more satisfying.
