Trent does a great job of in this book. It is really engaging and easy to read. I especially like his person story about his struggles, his loss of his brother and how that formed the person he is today. It is a great read! - Maria EmmerichI absolutely love this book. The author has done an amazing job at explaining how food is connected physically and spiritually. I appreciate how he shared his personal story of how he has been there and has walked this walk himself. -JessicaCouldn't put it down. Really appreciated Mr. Holbert's vulnerability and honesty in telling his story. The insight into food was amazing and so convicting. If you're looking for a book that will change your view on how, what, and why you eat you MUST get this! -Rick ClarkTrent Holbert is very good at breaking things down in a way that makes information easy to understand. He has done so in this book, The Food god. The book is full of concepts that are not talked about a lot and it is information that we need to hear. Food not only provides physical nutrition for our body, but it also is an indicator of our relationship with our Creator. God used food in the Old Testament to establish the relationship between Him and His people. Trent talks about how we have become disconnected from God due to how we view food today. I love how Trent goes in to how Christians should approach food today. We need to be thankful for our food. We also need to practice self control when it comes to food. Trent provides a lot of scripture to reinforce what he is talking about in the book. Trent's personal testimony touched my heart. He has gone through so much, yet he has overcome his trauma by making the connection between food and God and how each of those things is important to living the best, most healthy life we can. Trent covers some of the basics of nutrition talking about the macro nutrients, as well as getting into a bit of the micro nutrients. He talks about how we spend so much money on medications to get us and keep us healthy when, if we just approached food in the right way, that could go a long way in keeping us healthy. He gets into a few of the herbs and their uses and how God has provided those for us to give us natural ways of helping us. He included some very tasty recipes in the book to help you get started eating in a more healthy way. There are even some Frequently Asked Questions in the back of the book that I found very interesting. I have wondered about several of them myself. I highly recommend this book. It is a very easy read and it will change your life! -Christine Moore
