specializing in photographing steam locomotives. In 1976, he began
taking photos of Mt. Fuji; and in 1990, he built his own domed
house at the foot of the mountain. He is considered one of Japan's
foremost photographers of Mt. Fuji.
Shigeki Yamashita established a public relations photo agency in 1987. In 1996, he began focusing on nature and scenery. In the same year, he spent 100 days camping out in a car and shooting the different faces of Mt. Fuji.
