J. Randolph (Randy) Turpin, Jr. has served at Valor Christian College in Columbus, Ohio since June of 2014-first as Vice President for Academic Affairs and now as President-elect. Prior to his arrival at Valor, he immersed himself in the revival culture of Bethel Church in Redding, California. His objective was to explore models for training God's people to live and minister supernaturally. For over twenty years, Dr. Turpin served in pastoral work as an ordained bishop of the Church of God (Cleveland, Tennessee). His primary calling has been to home missions regions with his most notable contributions being in Northern New England and Minnesota. His calling to minister to emerging leaders has taken him to South America, Africa, Asia, and to various training venues in North America. From 2005 to 2010, Randy served as the assistant director of the Pentecostal Theological Seminary's Center for Pentecostal Leadership and Care, resourcing pastoral covenant groups throughout the United States. After completing that project in 2010, he continued to serve as an adjunct professor with the Seminary teaching subjects related to leadership, ministerial practice and prayer. In addition to being an educator, administrator and pastor, Dr. Turpin is also a revival culture conference speaker, prayer ministry trainer, ministry and leadership development consultant, editor, writer and a lifetime learner. He also serves as President of Draw Near - a ministry emphasizing the deepening of personal intimacy with Christ through prayer and renewal. Most recently, Dr. Turpin has been a frequent speaker at World Harvest Church pastored by Rod Parsley in Columbus, Ohio. Randy has authored several books, including 101 Prayer Models; Prayer Strategy; and Shared Discernment. He has also co-authored Friends of God: Growing in Life's Most Essential Relationship and Friends of the Bridegroom: Partnering with Christ in His Devotion to the Church - discipleship studies designed to inform and inspire the relational and spiritual aspects of ministry.
