About the Author

Dr. Ravi Morchi, MD started his career as an emergency physician. He developed educational curricula in simulation and anatomic dissection, and spent time in rural hospitals across sub-Saharan Africa. He then chose to pursue formal surgical training at UC Irvine, cardiac residency at UCLA, and congenital cardiac sub-specialization at Children's Hospital of Colorado. He achieved the 99th percentile on every in-service exam and a top score on the
American Board of Surgery exam. Dr. Morchi has received over a dozen teaching awards throughout his career. He currently practices adult and pediatric heart surgery in southern California.
