About the Author

Patrick Mercer is a serving army officer whose fascination with nineteenth-century military history started in boyhood. His first visit to the Crimea in 1993 made him realise just how pivotal to the whole campaign the battle of Inkermann was and how little is remembered about it - hence this book. He lives in Herefordshire.
