The globe isn't composed of two parts: the Western civilisation and the Rest, ie the Non-West. The Arabo-Muslim, Bharati, Chinese and Western civilisations are all living civilisations. A civilisation has a scriptural, anthropological and material building-block, as well as a distinct axial institution (eg the present Western one is a civilisation of business). As a result, international relations also are inter-civilisation relations and globalisation doesn't automatically produce a universal civilisation.
