Growing up in Britain in the eighties, Simon Worsfold was fortunate enough to travel all over the world at a young age: spending his winters skiing and his summers wherever the sun shone better than home. As soon as he was old enough to go it alone, he branched out and ventured further afield to India, Nepal and southern Africa before settling into two years working for a travel company that sends volunteers to work on projects around the world. This only aggravated the travel bug and before long he left with his American girlfriend (who he later married) to spend a year in Australia and South East Asia. From here he wrote a regular travel advice column for Verge magazine, based in Canada. After all this, aged twenty eight, he still says there's nothing quite as exciting as the feeling of being pressed into the back of an airline seat when the pilot puts the throttle down for take off, and with close family in both Australia and the United States, this looks set to continue.
