The Hurricane was the RAF's first monoplane fighter, and was the most numerous RAF fighter during the Battle of Britain. Manned by British, Commonwealth and Allied ace fighter pilots, the Hurricane served not only in the skies over England, but over the Russian steppes, the waters of the North Atlantic and the sands of the Sahara desert. The full career of this extraordinary aircraft is told in this book. This is the tenth volume in a new series of books from "Histoire & Collections: Planes & Pilots". The books are devoted in detail to the most prestigious warbirds from and since the Second World War, each featuring over 200 colour illustrations, including aircraft profiles, camouflage and markings, maps and diagrams, plus a lot of previously unpublished archive photographs. It features full colour computer graphics specially created by Nicolas Gohin, a talented young artist who creates astonishingly realistic profiles. It is full of specially created full colour artwork and unpublished black and white archive photos: perfect for aviation enthusiasts and aircraft modellers.

I really like this book. It is an excellent overview of a very historically significant aircraft. It is almost a "spotter's guide" in the way it points out the various changes as the aircraft developed. www.scaleplasticandrail.com This inspirational Hurricane title dispels the rumour that the aircraft simply wore either green/ brown or grey/ green upper surfaces. There are some fascinating schemes in here... -- Glenn Sands Airfix Model World A concise and extremely useful modelling reference which gives a complete overview of the aircraft and a huge choice of different schemes to inspire you. -- David Parker Air Modeller
