Terri Giles-Exum was born in Tampa, Florida in 1962 into a large extended family. Along with her sisters and cousins, they grew up on rural land acquired by her maternal grandparents. They rode horses, camped and fished nearly year round. Discovering a love for writing at an early age, many hours were spent dreaming up poems and writing short stories. Marrying at an early age to a military man, she followed him around the country. They had two children and eventually settled into Augusta, Georgia. It was here she began her work with special needs children that would eventually inspire The Healer Saga, a work of spiritual/historical fiction, which include The Gift of Suffering and Wings of Redemption. In 2002 Terri was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, an auto immune condition that plagued her maternal grandfather. The mechanics of writing became very painful due to the destructive nature of the disease. After experiencing numerous side effects caused by prescription drugs, she visited a holistic doctor and discovered the true path to healing. Without the use of medication, she sent her condition into remission. During the writing of The Healer Saga, she was healed. She attributes her restoration to the mighty power of Jesus Christ, who guided her back to health.
