About the Author

Adam Smolka was born and educated in Scotland and subsequently followed a science research career at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, University of California, Los Angeles and currently at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has published extensively on zero-gravity electrophoresis and gastric physiology. These interests led circuitously but naturally to investigation of chess and Tango. He lives on Johns Island, South Carolina.
