Diana Kenney, D of Min., Founder of Good Grief Ministry. Diana runs workshops on griefwork, leads support groups, teaches online classes and does pastoral counseling. Everyone grieves losses or life changing events but not everyone mourns. Mourning is necessary for transformation - for the new you to unfold. You need to feel it, to heal it. Allow your soul's voice and wisdom to be heard. Diana facilitates this growth on all levels. She has a Doctorate of Ministry in Shamanic Psychospiritual Studies from Venus Rising University in Whittier, NC and is certified in Death and Grief Studies from The Center for Loss and Life Transition in Ft. Collins, CO. She is also certified as a Shamanic Breathwork Facilitator from Venus Rising Association for Transformation. Author with Debra Dalton of "How Cancer Transformed Our Lives" with Practical Tips, Tools & Techniques for Everyone Touched by Cancer. Her own grief journey began when her beloved partner died from cancer, and, at that same time, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Surgery was successful so no further treatment was required; though, healing and rehabilitating from the 8" abdominal incision left her physically debilitated for 1 1/2 years. Her grief work from these events helped her understand both sides of the picture: being a patient and the caregiving and death of a loved one. She learned the value of community support in the healing process, including the personal emotional, spiritual, mental and physical aspects.
