Reviews

It was wonderful to see how this story has been adapted for the little ones! It was easy to follow and very engaging, I really loved it.--Manon

Love reading children fiction. Its worth my 1 hour break time. Although I have not read the original or Modern edition. This book, is all I ever wanted. Its fine and readable. Love the simple story line. I fancy all pictures of Lizzie and her siblings. Its well-written. I am sure children will find this book lovable and attractive too. Thank you NetGalley, the Author & Publisher for this wonderful ARC in exchange for my honest and decent review.--Summer

Pride and Prejudice is my favorite book and this adapted children's story by Gemma Barder was delightful to read. At 96 pages, it's a quick read that hits all of the major plot points while using modern language that will be easier for young readers to understand. There are also charming drawings throughout. I definitely recommend this book for middle grade readers and Jane Austen fans who want to introduce Austen to the next generation. /5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and Sweet Cherry Publishing for the ebook to review. All opinions are my own.--Kim

Thank you to NetGalley and Sweet Cherry Publishing for granting me access to an e-ARC of "Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen Children's Stories)," a Jane Austen novel adapted by Gemma Barder in exchange for an honest review. This is such a good book for children! The story is simplified enough that's not missing important dialogues from the original book, the cover has the lovliest color palette and the drawing in between the pages are so cute. It's a quick and fun read to beginner readers.--Sveva

Thanks to Netgalley for an eARC of this book in exchange of an honest review. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is my favorite book and I was so excited to read this children's edition. All the illustrations, beginning with the cover were absolutely adorable. It's as if I was reading a fairytale set in England.. Since the illustrations looked so well on kindle, I can imagine how cute they must be on the hardcover/paperback edition. It's so important for kids to read the classics and what a beautiful edition this one was. Definitely going to read it again on my iPad. If you are a fan of P&P, you definitely need this in your collection! Thank you so much for this book.--Paloma

This is a fun book that my fourth and fifth grade students would enjoy to read. I would it introduce it in hopes that they would read the entire classic when they are a bit older. The story of Pride and Prejudice, as adapted by Gemma Barder, is a quick and comprehensive read. It details the main components of the novel in a very likeable and readable way. I have also read Emma, by this author recently, and enjoyed it as well. I hope there are more editions to come! Thank you to Netgalley for this free ebook in exchange for an honest review.--Linda

This was a beautiful rendition of the ever powerful story of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy! The illustrations were really enjoyable too. Thank you to the Publishers and Netgalley for providing me with this short and brilliant book!--Fariha
