About the Author

Henri Nouwen, who died in 1996, was a Dutch priest and one of the most popular Catholic spiritual writers in the world. His Orbis publications include Adam: God's Beloved, With Burning Hearts, Peacework, The Selfless Way of Christ, and The Road to Peace. Michael O'Laughlin has received advanced degrees in theology from Harvard and Oxford Universities. While at Harvard he was Henri Nouwen's teaching assistant. His other books include Henri Nouwen: His Life and Vision and God's Beloved: Henri Nouwen.
