Reviews

"If there is anyone who knows more about Joel Chandler Harris than R. Bruce Bickley Jr., and Hugh T. Keenan, the writer does not know who that person is....Throughout, the annotations are intended to inform the reader of the work's contents and not to pass judgment on the author's interpretation. An excellent thirty-page index greatly enhances the book's usefulness as a reference tool. Students of Southern culture owe a great debt to Bickley and Keenan. Would that all major Southern writers were the beneficiaries of such bibliographical treatment as that afforded Harris."-Mississippi Quarterly ?If there is anyone who knows more about Joel Chandler Harris than R.
