Michael E. Harvey is an ordained rabbi, a hospital chaplain, and a social justice advocate with extensive experience serving congregations and leading large-scale community change. His passion is for bringing deep Jewish understanding to the lay public. He is the creator of a bimonthly podcast with a local Episcopal priest, titled A Priest and a Rabbi Walk into a Bar, which discusses religious issues and interfaith subjects.
"Let's Talk: A Rabbi Speaks to Christians encapsulates everything I
attempt to convey when addressing Christian audiences and college
students about potential difficulties surrounding the topic of
'Jews' within a Christian context. This book is a must-read for
anyone interested in understanding the historical, literary, and
religious undertones of anti-semitism within historic Christendom,
and how to be sure to avoid them today."-Rabbi Moshe Daniel Levine,
senior Jewish educator for Orange County Hillel and adjunct
professor at UC Irvine
"Let's Talk is a brave gift to Jewish-Christian relations. Rabbi
Harvey takes on subtle anti-Jewish stereotypes woven into
Christianity. In their place, he offers clear, welcoming teachings
about Jewish history, scripture, and holidays."-Rabbi Laura
Duhan-Kaplan, director of inter-religious studies, Vancouver School
of Theology
"Rabbi Harvey's perspective is smart, engaging, and uncommonly
accessible, confronting challenging interfaith issues with candor
and care. I suspect this little book will become a go-to resource
for Christians who seek honest, cordial, fruitful relationships
with their Jewish neighbors."-Josh Garroway, Sol and Arlene
Bronstein Professor of Judaeo-Christian Studies, Hebrew Union
College - Jewish Institute of Religion
